Copywriting is one of those things that I really struggle with my business. The reality is I love to write but when it comes to writing copy for my business, I get so stuck.

In this episode, Shannon walks us through some copy tips that go beyond the strategy side of writing for your site. It’s all about embracing who you are and Shannon is a master at challenging us to embrace your own form of weird.

Follow along in this episode to feel some clarity around your writing and stop stressing about sounding different than everyone else.

I’ve told very few people about this (and now I wonder why) but one of the long term goals is my business is to contribute to more girls learning technology and coding. I still believe there are not enough women leaders in tech and this is impacting the world at large.

In this episode, I go through a couple stories about why I think having more women in technology could change we perceive the world and some science to back it up.

Finally, I talk about some key steps I think need to happen so that this slowly shifts to a more equal environment of women and men leaders.

Speaking in front of women is definitely something I love doing. And my good friend Laura Gmeinder does this in her own business: she is a public speaker who empowers women to uncover a career they love.

In this episode, we talk about negotiation in business, identifying the women connectors in your network, and how she asked for data on a guest post to define a speaking topic.

More about Laura:

Laura Gmeinder is a passion igniter.  She’s the Leading Lady at Laura Gmeinder Coaching & Consulting. Those in-the- know would tell you she’s a top rated coach, consultant and motivational speaker.

Laura’s passion lies at the intersection of leadership development and business strategy. Her story? She survived a quarter life crisis, harnessed her reawakened sense of adventure, left her corporate HR job (after 14 years) and set out to make an impact in the world. She is an InBusiness Magazine “40 Under 40”, honored for her business savvy and civic contributions, a BRAVA magazine 2018 Woman to Watch and an Athena Young Professional Award nominee. She is co-producer of “If you Won’t, Who Will? Empowered Women Empower Women” a documentary short. She is a regular contributor for the International Coach Federation (ICF) and provided coaching at Emerging Women conference (deemed a “Top Women’s Conference” by Forbes). Her expertise has been shared in the media for outlets like Huffington Post, US News & World Report and Wall Street Journal MarketWatch (talking about Taylor Swift no doubt). She strives to live an interesting life; the above was accomplished in the spirit of “Do one thing every day that scares you.”

This topic is something I’ve been craving to talk about for awhile. When it comes to marketing, we are all obsessed with results and I get it; isn’t that why we are in business? At the same time, approaching your marketing more as a marathon, than a sprint, can help balance out the different platforms we use to get our business out there.

During this episode, I talk about looking at your marketing efforts in two different ways: slow vs. Fast. Separating them in this way can help put you mind at rest in seeing what each type of marketing is doing for your business and not get too focused on the short term results you need.

I also include some steps you can take to evaluate all your marketing right now so you can diversify with intention.

You know when you meet someone who inspires you so much you can’t help but want to ask them all about their life? Well, Chauncéa is one of these women. I met her two years ago at the Yellow Conference in LA during the speakers dinner.

In this interview, we talk about what it means to be a self-starter and finding your own unique way of showing up online. Chauncéa shares how she has built relationships in her own business, and some simple things you can do to build your own network as a blogger and influencer.

Once of the reasons I am so inspired by Chauncéa is she isn’t in a rush in her career and she is all about letting things happen naturally. Instead of by force.

More about Chauncéa:

Chauncéa Carothers is an accomplished Entrepreneur, Public Speaker, Mentor, Social Influencer, Digital Marketing Expert and Brand Strategist.  Chauncéa has been featured in Forbes, Refinery29, Buzzfeed and more!

There are so many women out there who are launching books and I find that super exciting! I think it is great that publishing your work can be more accessible if you have something you want to share with the word in book form.

However, writing the book isn’t enough; marketing it and getting it out there can become a big project. But it doesn’t have to overwhelm you!

In this episode, I walk through a couple easy tips you can do to improve the searchability of your book on Google.

I want your book to be a huge success and getting it to your target audience is the whole point of writing it in the first place.

And if you are looking for extra help in getting found in Google through the book, reach out here: digimorphs.com/contact and we can discuss how we can work together.

I cringe when I hear the horror stories of business owners who didn’t have a plan for migrating their sites.

Here are a few:

- 30% drop in site traffic over 3 months

- Data gaps (0 data) in their Google Analytics

- 404 errors across their entire site that wreak havoc

Making sure you have a solid migration plan in place BEFORE migrating your site is key to not losing visits after you launch your new site. Imagine getting so excited about your new site and then discovering that you are actually getting half the visits from your previous site. A bummer no?

In this episode of the Digitally Overwhelmed podcast I talk about the top mistakes you need to avoid and how to plan for your site migration.

And if you need extra support with migrating your site, reach out to me here digimorphs.com/contact and we can talk through your migration plan.

We also talk about what it means to trust the journey of your business, going through different business cycles, and how to analyze bounce rate on your home page.

I love Rebecca’s vibe and I think she has a lot to share about how to stand out uniquely online.

It is so exciting for me to get to interview my own mentors when it comes to online business and balancing that with the lifestyle you want. Courtney Johnston is one of those people for me. She runs the Rule Breaker’s club, where she teaches women how to package and sell their brilliance.

In this interview with Courtney, we talk about some keys to scaling your business, why it’s important to step out of the solopreneur mindset, and how to motivate yourself to get things done. We also get into how she uses data to improve her sales funnel during a launch and how it determined the success of that launch.

Courtney’s work has been featured on Inc.com, FastCompany.com, CreativeLive, and the Huffington Post. She’s from Michigan, started her business in Paris, and currently lives in Vancouver, BC with her fiancé, Mohammed.
